JKBOPEE Provisional Selection of NEET UG Candidates for MBBS/BDS Admission

The journey begins with the inception of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in 2010. The Medical Council of India, now NMC (National Medical Commission), introduced NEET as a standardized entrance examination for medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The responsibility of conducting NEET was entrusted to the National Testing Agency (NTA).

After the NEET examination on May 7, 2023, and the subsequent release of results by NTA on June 30, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, provided the results of candidates from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh to JKBOPEE.

Provisional Selection Process

Notification No. 035-BOPEE of 2023, issued on July 6, 2023, marked the first step in the selection process. It contained a roll number-wise list of candidates from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh who appeared in NEET-UG 2023 conducted by NTA.

Cancellation of Admission

Now, moving to a recent development, Notification No. 090-JKBOPEE of 2023, dated October 8, 2023, sheds light on the provisional selection process. It specifically addresses the cancellation of provisional admission for Miss Afsana Mehboob and Mr. Raja-Naveed-ul-Hassan, who were admitted under the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category for the MBBS course in 2023 at GMC Jammu.
